Cutting on the Range 2018
Annual cutting party hosted by Range Martial Arts East! Each year we grow, and last year was a ton of fun to have people from schools as far as Omaha participating! Join us this year for our 3rd annual event! We will be holding the event on August 11 at the same location - Camp Shimgum (no, you won't find that on Google Maps).
Those that were there for a previous year - same format! There will be plenty of cutting going on, food available, some refreshments, and plenty of room for camping overnight. Bring some snacks and beverages for the campfire afterward!
Bring your own sword (double-pinned, full tang, tight hardware, carbon steel). Under 18 need to have a responsible party present. Paper cutting available for those under 18 with wooden or unsharpened metal blades as well.
Haidong Gumdo students of all Midwest Haidong Gumdo schools are invited. Color belt students need to have their master's permission to cut. Non-student guests may participate with a reference from a martial arts instructor - contact Master Koivisto ahead of time.
Just like previous years, we will request certain safety behaviors at the event. BRING A BELT to help hold your sword. Participants may download, print, and sign the liability waiver that must be turned in before participating.
Registration fee is $30/person through July 14. The registration fee will increase to $45/person on July 15 for all payments received on or after this date.
Please have all registration information and fees submitted by August 4. Online payments at time of registration are preferred, but checks may be mailed to the address below. Payments submitted or postmarked after July 14 will be $45/person regardless of registration information being submitted.
