School News - Oct 2020

Hello everyone! We hope that you are all remaining in good health and spirit! Many changes have come about since we were forced to close our doors in March. We continue to be in a state of transition, but are pushing forward to do our best to provide you with motivation and great training experiences.

  • You may have noticed an influx of training equipment over the past weeks. Mr. Koivisto has been slowly bringing items from the closed Chisholm location to the school. While things are a bit scattered and messy now, items will be organized as they have new places for them found.
  • There are a number of student items that were left at the Chisholm location. If you had trained there or know someone that did, direct attention to the claim page.
  • We have lost some training space due to construction, but the barrier is now down and we have a new wall. The old separation walls have also been removed to give us more open area. There will continue to be some changes happening in our space, so please continue to stay safe and keep away from construction areas.
  • According to the polls taken mid-September, students want more in-person training classes during the week and would also like to restart the special sessions again. We have more flexibility for special sessions now, and will continue to look for unique opportunities because of it!
  • Our program for remote Tang Soo Do training via Zoom has been launched. We continue to try and improve the service and experience of our Zoom classes and streams. We are hoping that it will also help us in the coming months when winter weather travel is difficult. If you are a part of the Zoom classes and have suggestions, let us know!
  • October: Kigong in Chisholm @ 9:00 am Tuesdays in the Police Park and Saturdays in the Kiwanis Park. We have plenty of room for more people to join us. The feature set for October will be Kicho Kigong.
  • Oct 5: We are expanding our in-person training to include Monday evenings as well! This is another step in our goal for being fully open. We will continue to abide by our state's restrictions for capacity and distancing with the policies we have already been following this season.
  • Oct 16-18: WTSDA Region 3 Championship has been cancelled. We have confirmed that we will hold the event in Chisholm in 2021!

Some information has changed in the past couple weeks. Students are allowed to remove their face coverings in their exercise area. During training, we are not open to the public, and are not allowing spectators or parents inside. Those that wish to watch classes can do so via Zoom. With the announcement of Phase 3 in your email, students were given instruction on how to reserve their spot for class, an outline of how things worked before and after class, and an outline of our cleaning procedure. Students and parents may request all that information again if they didn't get a copy.
