2020 Jun 16
Thank you to all students and family members for supporting our school during Phase 1 of our reopening. Zoom classes are still new to and we continue to work through some of the technology gaps. While phase 2 will be able to bring us to limited in-person lessons, we will still be utilizing Zoom as well.
Reopening Phase 2 will begin on June 22. Our second phase opens up additional opportunities for training with us. We have obtained permission from the City of Virginia as well as the City of Chisholm to utilize a park in each city to hold in-person classes outdoors. Instructors are planning to have outdoor classes using a social distancing plan to keep classes in pods of 10 or fewer individuals in groups 10 or more feet apart. An outdoor policy will be released with an outdoor class waiver and schedule as it is solidified.
We realize that not all people will want to participate with in-person classes. We will still be holding Zoom sessions, but the schedule may be modified to allow for outdoor sessions as well. If technology allows, the days that outdoor sessions are going on, we may be able to also have them on Zoom to follow along with or maybe in Kicksite afterward.
In addition to the scheduled outdoor classes, Mr. Koivisto will be available for private lessons in-person or via Zoom. Anyone wanting to take advantage of those lessons will need to contact him and work out details.
The school is continuing to be fluid during this time as many things are changing around us. We are hoping that Phase 2 can be even more successful than Phase 1 was. Phase 3 will be able to begin planning shortly! As we continue this part of our journey, all Range Martial Arts students - past, present, future, Chisholm, or Virginia are welcome to join us!
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. K at firstname.lastname@example.org or 218-262-9870. We will consider all feedback as we move our plans forward to help everyone be successful in their training as well as feeling safe while doing so.
Starting June 22, our class schedule will be as below. All classes attended will count toward promotion.
Wednesdays will have an alternating week schedule during Phase 2. Each week will alternate between these two options. They will be labeled on the calendar. If the weather on a week of outdoor classes does not cooperate, classes will instead be held via ZOOM.
* Outdoor & Indoor session attendance is limited and must be scheduled and confirmed prior to the session.
All class schedules will be available on our school calendar as they are made available.
During phase 2 of reopening, students will be allowed to attend any ZOOM session for their rank or lower. (Red belts can attend all times, but a white belt may only attend the one time.) Students that are interested in attending classes for a different art should talk with Mr. Koivisto. During this phase of reopneing, there is no charge to participate in a second art via Zoom!
All in-person sessions must be scheduled and confirmed with Mr. Koivisto ahead of time whether it is for outdoor classes or indoor private lessons. If you do not schedule to be at a session, you may not be able to participate based on attendance.
